On this occasion, the Ekain Arte Lanak gallery presents the series BASOA / Forest- of the artist Luisa Chillida born in San Sebastian in 1981.

BASOA is Luisa Chillida's latest pictorial series, a reflection on the relationship between human beings and trees, not only as natural elements, but also as symbols of refuge, strength and connection with the essential in desolate times.

Throughout this exhibition, the artist combines a figurative look with an abstract approach, exploring the versatility of trees as a central theme. The more figurative pieces invite us to enter the intimate and protective atmosphere of the forest, while the abstract ones decompose the trunks and canopies, playing with their shapes and perspectives.

In BASOA, the artist explores the duality of the tree: a physical space that welcomes and shelters and a visual concept that inspires to reinterpret the forms of nature. This series is a tribute to trees as places of refuge and as an artistic source.
