Carmen Calparsoro

In our Guest Artist proposal we have invited the San Sebastian author Carmen Galparsoro.
We present a selection of 10 paintings in medium and small formats, painted with oil on canvas and board. We also have a selection of editions on paper, 7 serigraphs.

Carmen Galparsoro's painting contains a mystical symbology, a silent, earthly spirituality and is charged with a visual poetics of beauty. Her portraits have a softness that evokes the timeless and her carefully rendered floral landscapes provide a strong visual contrast and burst of color. It combines elements of symbolism, naïf art and the Central European decorative tradition in a visual proposal that invites both aesthetic contemplation and emotional reflection.
