Biography and Works of Baroja Collet

Le Creusot, France 1957

He has been living in Eibar, Gipuzkoa, since 1964. In 1979 he learns intaglio engraving with Mari Puri Blacksmith and Gabriel Ramos Uranga. Since 1983 he has been responsible for the Intaglio Engraving classroom of the Center of Artisan Teachings of Deba.

Extensive knowledge of engraving together with Ignacio Chillida. Together with Mari Fran Aggregabiria cover in 1997 the engraving and editing workshop “ITZAL" in Soraluze, Guipuzcoa. Participates as a guest lecturer in the VII Fuendetodos engraving courses. In 2001 he was selected for the Spanish pavilion at the Cairo Biennale, Egypt.

His work is in the Chalcography and National Library of Madrid, in the Museum of Fine Arts of Bilbao, in the collection Goya House Museum of Fuendetodos, in the collection of Graphic Art BBVA of Madrid, in the collection of the Basque Government and in the Museum of Contemporary Art of Ibiza.
