Ariel Elizondo

He was born in Brussels (Belgium) in 1968, where he studied Fine Arts, due to the influence of his mother who is a painter

In his youth he moved to Navarra, and there he began working in the family business dedicated to the natural stone sector, creating a close relationship and knowledge of the stones, through trips to national and foreign quarries as well as a strong relationship with architecture.

Currently lives in San Sebastian (Guipuzcoa).

His specialty as an artist focuses mainly on natural stone and steelsculpture. The fact that he wanted to develop his creativity through stone and steel comes from his origins.

He sculpts in Tafalla (Navarra), in the open-air field, where he creates and makes his dreams and ideas come true.The author bends steel cold, with the sole force of the energy of his arms and thoughts.The passage of time is imprinted on the stone, what is a gift from mother earth; steel, also is a mineral origin, with which he reflects the movement and is through its curvatures what he reveals from the depths of his being. Once this process is completed, he takes the sculptures to his workshop in Bera de Bidasoa, where he carries out the assemblies and finishes.

From 2019 to the present day, the Basque sculptor has a long history of solo exhibitions as well as group exhibitions. His work is present in major collections in France, Belgium, Holland, Basque Country, Cadiz, Alicante and Madrid.
