Marta Cárdenas

She is a painter of style mostly abstract. He studied at the Academy of San Fernando from Madrid and later in Paris. Starting out in portraiture, he moved on to open spaces and the study of movement through contemplation. The shapes and colors lived in India were another of his sources of inspiration.
Her first exhibition was held in a gallery in San Sebastian in 1970, and four years later she exhibited in Durango (Vizcaya). In 1980, she received a scholarship from the Juan March Foundation. By then, she had made his debut in Madrid with a solo exhibition (1974).
In the 80s, her renown was confirmed by her visit to galleries and fairs in Milan, Paris and Lisbon. In 1986, he exhibited at the ARCO fair, and she did it again in 1991.
The work of Marta Cárdenas is present in various museums, such as the Museo Reina Sofía from Madrid or the Museum of Fine Arts of Bilbao, as well as in the Palace of the Moncloa, the National Library from Spain, Juan March Foundation, BBK Collection (Bilbao), La Caixa Foundation...
