Contemporary Basque Sculptor

 Alkiza, Gipuzkoa, 1959 - 2024 

Koldobika Jauregi was a contemporary Basque sculptor born in Alkiza, Gipuzkoa, in 1959.

He began his artistic work as an autodidact, in 1976 winning in a youth contest his first trip to Paris — an early experience that exposed him to international contemporary art and sculpture. In 1990, Eduardo Chillida awarded him the "Zabalaga Scholarship", a key moment that reinforced his sculptural practice within the Basque contemporary art context.

His work has been exhibited in various national and German galleries and art fairs such as Bow, Stamp of Graphic Art, Frankfurt Book Fair or the Graphic Art Colony Fair in Germany, reflecting a sustained international presence, particularly within the European contemporary art scene. And we can highlight his Solo exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, in 2007.

His works are held in major museum collections, incluiding the Insel Hombroich Museum in Germany, the museum Würth also German, the Perfection by Hyogo in Japan or the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao.
